Correct.
In a study by the University of Miami School of
Medicine comparing the Spinal Stiffness Gauge (SGG) to a subjective
measurement of spine stability, it was determined that patients
measuring less than 25N/mm stiffness could be candidates for fusion;
those measuring between 25 and 55N/mm would be potential candidates
for joint reconstruction. Those measuring 55 N/mm were considered
fused. Current assessments of spine stiffness are performed manually.
Mekanika's Spinal Stiffness Gauge will accurately measure and help
surgeons in defining the appropriate treatment for the optimum outcome.
